Abstract

Nowadays, nanomaterials, especially ultrathin two‐dimensional (2D) nanosheets, have been widely studied because of their unique structures and enhanced physical properties caused by quantum confinement of the electrons. There are a wide variety of the 2D nanomaterials, but they can be categorized into 4 main groups: the organic ones like graphene or carbon nitrides; the inorganic 2D structures like nanoclays, phosphorene, and MXenes; the metallic nanosheets; and the hybrid structures of the 3 aforementioned categories including metal–organic frameworks. Using nanosheets in polymeric matrices has always been challenging. One of the most common challenges is enhancing the dispersion state of the nanosheets in matrices. Besides, functionalization sometimes helps the nanocomposite to enhance some specific properties such as environmental stability …
